London Metropolitan University cuts

BAC’s support the campaign to save London Metropolitan University from the plan to cut 165 jobs. London Met has always supported students from disadvantaged backgrounds/FE Colleges. London Metropolitan is a vital institution for working class students.

A walkout at the London Met took place on the day the Tories announced a further £900 million cuts to education. Much of it will probably hit further education. A group of strikers from the National GalleryMembers of the Public and Commercial Services (PCS) joined with them (About 200 workers are campaigning against plans to switch visitor services to a private company.)The walkout follows a strike last month by UCU members.

Several colleges across London plan to strike together against the cuts later this month.
